Group 1: Ages 6-8
- Focus: Foundational Social Skills
- Skills Covered: Emotional recognition, empathy, turn-taking, cooperation, basic conversation initiation, listening, and following directions.
- Goal: Build foundational skills to engage in group play, form early friendships, and follow social expectations in structured environments (like classrooms and playgrounds).
Group 2: Ages 8-10
- Focus: Friendship and Conflict Resolution
- Skills Covered: Perspective-taking, building and maintaining friendships, setting boundaries, basic problem-solving in peer conflicts, and assertiveness.
- Goal: Support children in navigating the complexities of friendships, respecting boundaries, and beginning to handle conflicts more independently.
Group 3: Ages 10-12
- Focus: Advanced Social Skills and Identity
- Skills Covered: Advanced empathy and perspective-taking, group dynamics and teamwork, understanding social cues, advanced conflict resolution, and self-identity.
- Goal: Equip children with skills to understand group dynamics, interpret nonverbal social cues, resolve conflicts maturely, and explore personal identity in a social context.
Group therapy will have at least three members to start. The maximum number of the group will depend on the age, the therapy purpose, and will be determined by the specific case conditions.
